Our Partnership with KRIMMZ – Broadening Opportunities Through Community Collaboration

At Haslam Park, we recognise that our school context, including high levels of deprivation, significant numbers of pupils eligible for Pupil Premium and a high proportion of pupils with English as an Additional Language (EAL), makes access to high-quality enrichment, sport and wider experiences particularly important.

We are proud to work in partnership with KRIMMZ, a local community organisation dedicated to improving opportunities, promoting inclusion and supporting the wellbeing of children, young people and families.

Through this partnership, we have secured access to the local bowling green and KRIMMZ's extensive resources, enabling us to extend our PE provision, deliver sports days and provide additional opportunities for physical activity beyond our school grounds.

KRIMMZ offers a wide range of sporting, recreational and enrichment opportunities, including cricket, netball, football, tennis, cycling, archery, outdoor adventures, cooking, creative activities and wellbeing programmes. Our partnership creates valuable opportunities to connect pupils and families with this wider community provision.

This partnership is particularly significant in our school context because it:

• Removes barriers to participation by improving access to local facilities, equipment and opportunities.

• Broadens pupils' experiences through access to sporting and enrichment resources that extend beyond our school facilities.

• Promotes physical and emotional wellbeing by encouraging active lifestyles, confidence, resilience and positive relationships.

• Supports equality and inclusion by helping pupils from different backgrounds access opportunities to participate, develop interests and build confidence.

• Strengthens community connections by linking school provision with an established local organisation that understands the needs of our families.

• Raises aspirations by introducing pupils to activities, interests and opportunities they may not otherwise experience.

Our partnership with KRIMMZ demonstrates our commitment to making purposeful use of community resources to enhance pupils' personal development.

By working together, we are helping to ensure that financial disadvantage, background or limited access to facilities does not restrict pupils' opportunities to participate, achieve and thrive.
